About us

We are a global media business specialising in the gaming industry.  We have a publishing arm consisting of a dozen owned websites including, and over 100 network site partners such as  We produce class-leading content for clients via our creative agency team, and work with publishers and advertisers to unlock audience value.  We are based in Bath but are open to taking-on remote employees within the UK too.

The role

We are building a new set of tools to help players get more from the games they love and find the best gear. Network N is looking for an individual with proven success as an editor, project manager, or digital growth professional to work with our developers and leadership team to acquire, launch, and grow these tools.

The business has grown our owned & operated editorial sites, which deliver over 20m users per month. There is a lot of room to grow these further, but even more to grow websites that offer extra functionality. We call our editorial products The Legion sites. Our functionality sites are called Sparta.

Functionality will include things like gear, maps, databases, and directories. A great example of this is around game system requirements. Our audience can read about a game system requirements here and take a test to see if their PC can run the title and get unique gear recommendations here.

You will be responsible for:

  • Researching gaming-focused functionality sites and tools which both complement our existing editorial brands and establish new ground. 

  • Identifying, scoping, and then acquiring or launching new products. Researching potential acquisitions and pitching business cases for them

  • Staying abreast of, and regularly researching, competitors in order to identify gaps in the market and opportunities to gain audience share

  • Working with editorial Publishers to complement and benefit from owned & operated sites

  • Working with the Sales Team to drive new business and identify opportunities

  • Delivering affiliate and sponsored contents opportunities alongside commercial teams

  • Growing product traffic in line with agreed targets

  • Managing department budget,reporting on progress of the portfolio and creation of strategy documents

  • Keeping abreast of SEO and publishing trends and best practices

  • Working with Development and Design teams to build and launch tools and sites

  • Testing, improving, and keeping sites up to date 

  • Other as requested by the leadership team

You will be expected to:

  • Conceive of, scope, and deliver, in collaboration with the Development team, new tool sites

  • Grow site traffic across the Sparta portfolio

  • Work with the Publisher - PC and Publisher - Multiformat & Entertainment to coordinate relevant tool sites with Legion editorial sites

  • Ensure consistently high editorial standards across any published content

  • Create and maintain documentation

  • Forecast and manage departmental budgets

  • Recruit, onboard, and train new staff as required

  • Use the company’s workflow tools correctly and effectively, including Asana, GSuite, etc.

You will have/be able to:

  • Proven and extensive experience as an editor, project manager, or digital growth professional in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrable success in audience growth

  • Curiosity about site and tool design and what makes gamers tick

  • Ability to work alongside developers and talk in their language

  • Proactively produce innovative solutions to high-level ambiguous problems

  • Make prompt, clear decisions which may involve tough choices or considered risks

  • Encourage others in the team to make decisions in their own area of expertise, take appropriate risks and learn from experience

  • Consistently deliver large projects involving one or more teams’ contribution on time at a high level of quality

  • Monitor allocation of resources, anticipating changing requirements that may impact work delivery

  • Adapt interpersonal style to suit different people or situations

  • Previous experience as a people manager would be highly desirable

  • Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment
