About us

We are a global media business specialising in the gaming industry.  We have a publishing arm consisting of a dozen owned websites including PCGamesN.com, and over 100 network site partners such as TrueAchievements.com.  We produce class-leading content for clients via our creative agency team, and work with publishers and advertisers to unlock audience value.  We are based in Bath but are open to taking-on remote employees within the UK too.


The Role

We are looking for an In-house Recruiter to join our small but growing HR team. You will report to the HR Manager and be part of the wider Finance and Operations team, a close-knit team who are very supportive of each other. At Network N, you can really see the impact of your work and HR is appreciated as a strategic asset which is very rewarding.

This is a newly created role to keep up with the recruitment demands from the business. It will play a crucial role in allowing the business to achieve its growth plans. As it is a newly created-role, it is a great opportunity to really own the recruitment function within HR and be creative with it, always with the aim of getting the best talent.

You will be responsible for sourcing and selecting the best candidates in a cost effective manner and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the entire process. Especially important is having a good understanding of the implications of recruitment practices in issues of employment law, discrimination and bias. It is fundamental that our standards are kept high throughout recruitment and that we continue to improve our practices to eliminate these issues. We have recently implemented psychometric assessment to improve the accuracy and validity of our selection methods. It is highly desirable that the successful candidate has experience with these tools. 

The role will be a fixed term contract for 12 months, at which time it will be reviewed. 


You will be responsible for:


  • Establishing relationships with hiring managers

  • Attracting, sourcing and screening candidates using a variety of innovative techniques including social networking and direct sourcing

  • Direct sourcing (using tools such as LinkedIn) and head hunting to help fill challenging vacancies

  • Managing and reviewing recruitment preferred suppliers and other external organisations when needed (we prefer direct sourcing mostly). In tandem, negotiating associated fees.

  • Promoting, leading and representing the company image and culture to candidates

  • Creating a positive candidate experience

  • Coaching best practice interview skills with relevant managers

  • Developing and managing candidate pipeline

  • Developing and updating job descriptions, person specifications and interview questions

  • Placing job adverts and monitoring responses 

  • Helping line managers with Screening/short-listing/interviewing all prospective applicants

  • Communicating effectively with HR team, keeping hiring managers and HR team updated on progress

  • Managing vacancies proactively, spotting problematic roles and creating solutions 

  • Creating and owning a Recruitment report, identify best key performance indicators for our organisation (Quality of Hire, Cost of hire etc.) and gather data to track these continuously.

  • Identifying larger improvement opportunities for optimising our recruitment processes, our employer brand (attraction) or anything else that may impact recruitment/People function.

  • In conjunction with the rest of the HR team, you will develop plans and strategies for attracting new talent, especially in early careers (Apprenticeships, Graduate programmes, work experience).


You will have/be:


  • Experience in resourcing in a fast-paced environment across multiple departments and specialisms with high volume of vacancies. Being adaptable is a must.

  • Solid knowledge of recruitment practices and processes, keeping up to date with latest updates.

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.

  • A focus on delivering results and setting and meeting high standards for your work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels.

  • You establish excellent relationships with internal customers and external candidates alike.

  • Ability to develop strong professional rapport with candidates and stakeholders promoting employer brand at all times.

  • Have a proactive and innovative approach for sourcing candidates, identifying and willing to trial and use new recruitment tools/methods.

  • Awareness and understanding of the ethical implications of recruitment, upholding ethics and values, demonstrating integrity. 

  • Either CIPD level 3 qualified or REC Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment (in-house or recruitment practice) or equivalent qualification.

  • Proficient with G-suite tools/Microsoft office suite and be used to using Applicant Tracking Systems to their fullest potential. 

  • Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment 


Desirable


  • CIPD level 5 qualified or REC Level 5 or equivalent qualification

  • It is highly desirable that you possess experience in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments (SHL preferred). 

  • Qualification from the British Psychological Society in Test Administration OR Test User.
